HTC allegedly working on R7 and R12 Windows RT Blue tablets

HTC is allegedly working on a couple Windows RT Blue powered tablets, which are codenamed R7 and R12. The “R” in the title indicates that the slates will be running on the latest Windows RT Blue edition.


The HTC R7 is rumored to sport a 7″ full HD display and a 2.3 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor along with 2GB of RAM.

Nokia Lumia 2520 tablet dressed in cyan leaks out in a press image

The upcoming Nokia Lumia 2520 Windows RT tablet made yet another unscheduled appearance, thanks to @evleaks. After allowing us to potentially catch a glimpse of its kickstand three days ago, the slate leaked out in a press image, dressed in a cyan outfit.


The tablet in the leaked image sports a design which is in line with the looks of Nokia Lumia range of smartphones. Its rumored specs include Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 SoC, 10.1” 1080p display, and LTE support.

Android 4.4 KitKat might feature a new location settings option

Google teased its latest Android release, version 4.4 KitKat, a month ago. The upcoming version of Android OS is expected to be available this month alongside the upcoming Nexus 5 and as we are nearing the official announcement, the leaks are picking up intensity.

Windows Phone 8.1 to power 10″ tablets, swallow up Windows RT

We’ve been hearing that Windows Phone and Windows RT might merge but a new rumor suggests it will be more like Phone displacing RT. Microsoft is working on a Windows Phone 8.1 update, which will allegedly add support for 7 to 10 inch screens to enable WP8.1-powered tablets and merge parts of the API so developers can easily create apps for both platforms.


Multitasking is reportedly the biggest issue ahead of this plan – the GDR3 update will let users close apps manually,

New Apple iPad 5 leaks in high-res photos

The next generation iPad 5 is expected to be unveiled at an Apple event on October 22. Before then, however, a slew of new images have leaked showing off the upcoming tablet in full detail.



The images show off the anticipated new design scheme that will be thinner and smaller, and more in line with that of the current iPad mini.

Nokia Lumia 2520 tablet to have a kickstand and 1080p screen?

A new photo of the Nokia Lumia 2520 Windows RT tablet indicates that the rumored tablet will follow in the footsteps of the Microsoft Surface tablet and have a kickstand on its back. The image is low quality and doesn’t even show the whole tablet, so trust it at your own risk.


The Lumia 2520 has leaked before – an alleged photo of the Verizon-branded version didn’t show any trace of a kickstand, while the FCC diagrams revealed almost nothing but the beveled edges.

New color options coming on the Lumia Glance screen with GDR3

The Glance Screen is a really great feature of the Lumia range. It’s a tribute to the MeeGo lockscreen (and Symbian smartphones), where you can always see a clock and get any missed events listed right on the standby screen.



Until now the Glance Screen, which premiered with the Amber update, had two color options – the default white font and the optional night theme that paints the clock red.

Photos of Nokia-branded wristband hint at smartwatch

Have you heard the rumors? Everyone is making a smartwatch – Sony and Samsung already have theirs out, but Apple, Google and now Nokia are in the mix too. The first evidence of a Nokia watch are two photos of a Nokia-branded wristband.



Here’s something funny – a group of ex-Nokia employees put a smartwatch project on Kickstarter, while a former Nokia exec (VP, Entry Business Line) of is chairman at another smartwatch company.

Google might soon launch a native Music app for iOS

Google launched its own music streaming services at its I/O event this summer. The Google Play Music All Access has been exclusive to the Android platform since then, but we might soon see a native Google Music app for iOS, according to a report from Engadget.


Google is said to have started testing out its native iOS app and the new service will allegedly launch later this month. The app seems to have a few bugs, which need fixing before the final version of the app is out for public.

Apple allegedly won’t be widely rolling out iPad Mini’s with Retina displays this year

Sources close to Apple’s supply chain of its iPad tablet department claim that a large-scale rollout of the anticipated iPad Mini with retina display won’t be taking place this year, if at all.


With manufacturing just starting, it’s likely that only limited quantities of the iPad Mini with retina display will be available for this holiday season.

Apple looking into flexible OLEDs for the iWatch

The upcoming Apple iWatch – which we likely won’t see until late 2014 – will allegedly have a flexible OLED display, according to a source out of Korea.


There are also several prototypes that are currently under consideration: 1.3-inch, 1.4-inch, and 1.5-inch models, with the latter having already been made.
Wearable smart displays have become something more than just a blip on the radar with the unveiling of the Samsung Galaxy Gear and Sony SmartWatch 2 at this years’ IFA.

Analyst: Apple iWatch coming in late 2014, to be priced around $149-229

Apple’s iWatch is one of the most hotly anticipated gadgets, especially after reports that Samsung will be launching its Galaxy Gear smartwatch next week. However, according to the latest gossip, Apple’s iWatch is not coming anytime soon and is expected to launch only in the second half of 2014.




According to an analyst at CIMB Group, 60% of Apple’s iWatch orders are expected to be manufactured by Invetec, the Taiwan-based ODM. The deal is expected to generate about 19% of Invetec’s profits in the coming year.
